What should I do to initiate a meal delivery to a loved one? There are several ways to initiate a meal delivery. The easiest is to complete the simple form on the Meal Gifter page or Busy Families page if you are "self-gifting". If you prefer you can also email us (email@example.com) or call/text us (508-319-1470) to walk through details, such as location of your meal recipient, type of meal preferred and expected delivery timing.
How are the meals delivered? The meal will be delivered by your CourierCook chilled (never frozen) within 24 hours of its preparation, in microwave or oven-safe packaging. It will come with simple reheating instructions to follow (e.g. Remove lid and cook in oven for 30 minutes at 350 degrees). For a personal touch, your handwritten note will be included on CourierCook letterhead at delivery. Tipping by the Meal Recipient is strongly discouraged.
What if I don't know what type of meal to send? There are several options for selecting the right meal for your loved one. You are welcome to send the name or even a recipe of the special meal to be prepared by a CourierCook. Alternatively, you can choose one of our popular meal options shown HERE, and available in all of our metro areas. Finally, if you want us to be creative, simply decide on a type of main dish (for instance, beef or fish) and our CourierCooks will suggest a meal that is always well received. Whichever path you choose, your Meal Recipient will love it!
Can my Meal Recipient choose the meal type? We try to be flexible with meal selections; obviously, we want your Meal Recipient to be excited about the meal being delivered! For certain Meal Recipients, not deciding the meal type is actually easier (especially if this is a challenging time). Confirming a 'Top Ten' meal selection is always safe, and allows the Meal Recipient to choose exactly what they want. Custom meals or recipes require a bit more coordination.
How will my Meal Recipient be notified about the meal gift? This is the fun part! Once an order is confirmed, CourierCook.com sends a message to your Meal Recipient telling them a meal has been gifted to them, the meal selection and planned delivery date. If you would prefer to let them know first, that's fine -- this is your gift! Then the CourierCook matched with your delivery will email or call your Meal Recipient 1-2 days prior to delivery to confirm exact timing, usually between 1:00-4:00pm.
How does the payment process work? Once we confirm the meal and order details with you, we will send you a PayPal invoice by email. Prompt payment is required to allow for planning with your CourierCook prior to the meal delivery. Generally we try to confirm all orders and receive payment 2-3 days prior to meal delivery. We will handle paying the CourierCook following delivery to the Meal Recipient.
How far in advance should I order my gifted meal? This is an on-demand, meal delivery service -- but we can't deliver a custom meal the same day. For proper scheduling and matching of CourierCooks in our network, we ask that all meal requests be made with at least a couple of days lead time for our cooks. We will communicate the expected delivery date, subject to Meal Recipient availability, at the time the order and pricing details are agreed upon. Meals will be cooked within 24 hours of delivery, often the same day or overnight by slow cooker depending on meal selection.
